300 Blackout Subsonic Ammo | Fenix Ammo

300 Blackout subsonic ammo is the reason this cartridge exists, and we load both halves of the job: the 220gr FMJ for whisper quiet practice volume, and the 190gr FXP Sub-X, with a Hornady projectile engineered to expand at subsonic velocity, for everything past paper. Both run 1,000 FPS. Both ship 100 to a package from Novi, Michigan.

Two Subsonics, Two Jobs

The 220gr FMJ is the quiet trainer: heavy, cheap to run, and hearing friendly behind a can. The 190gr Sub-X is the quiet load that still works when quiet is not the only requirement. Its Flex Tip insert initiates expansion where ordinary bullets stay closed. Most Blackout owners end up keeping both.

Getting the Quiet You Paid For

Both loads are tested in rifles from 8" to 10.5", suppressed and unsuppressed, but every gas system has opinions. You may need to adjust gas settings or buffer weights. Prove function with one 100 round package before deep stocking, then enjoy centerfire shooting quiet enough to hear your hits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quiet is subsonic Blackout with a suppressor?

About as quiet as centerfire rifle gets. No supersonic crack, just action noise and impact. Both loads run 1,000 FPS, safely under the barrier.

Which subsonic should I buy?

220gr FMJ for practice volume, 190gr Sub-X when you need expansion at subsonic speed. Same speed class, different missions.

Do subsonics cycle reliably?

Tested in 8" to 10.5" rifles with and without cans. Setups vary widely, so be prepared to tune gas or buffer weight.
